The Tosa Inu, also called the Japanese Mastiff, is a type of Japanese war dog that can weigh up to 200 pounds and pull significantly heavier loads. According to the American Kennel Club, these dogs' powerful bodies and jaws can pull up to 3,000 pounds. When properly trained, these dogs can be loving and calm, but their mere presence can inspire fear. Due to the dog's penchant for violence, it has been banned in certain countries, particularly the United Kingdom, according to BBC News. However, Bill Lambert of the Kennel Club stressed that just because a species was created for fighting does not automatically make it dangerous.
27. French Mastiff

One giant dog breed is the English Mastiff. The Mastiff is the only name the National Kennel Club gives the breed. Giant dogs like English Mastiffs need lots of energy and regular exercise. They are sturdy and have good defensive instincts. According to Inside Dogs World, these dogs can occasionally pose a threat due to their large size, huge paws, and a psi of 552. However, with proper care, these dogs are often easy to care for and reliable protectors of the family. They tend to be friendly and gentle, but households without small children are thought to be the best places for them to live. This is partly due to their large size and potentially deadly paws.
