On longer hikes where batteries and accumulators may still not be enough, photovoltaics prove to be an ideal technology. Portable panels can be integrated into electronic devices and appliances (e.g. a solar refrigerator, an oven and a table). In addition, they can act as a stand-alone, transportable folding module. Power banks and photovoltaic modules combine well to generate valuable energy throughout the day. The "buffer" battery can occasionally be part of the solar module. It should be remembered that weather, season and climate zone have a significant impact on how efficiently solar power is used to charge devices. If the panel is operated while driving (on a backpack, in a boat or even on the back of a camel),it can be quite difficult to achieve the indicators listed in the features.
